What is Enzyme inhibitor

Enzyme inhibitor

Enzyme inhibitor is there defined as a substance which bind with enzyme and binding about a decrease catalytic reaction activate of a particular enzyme.

Example - cimetidine, erythromycin, ciprofloxacin, and isoniazid.

The inhibitor are inorganic or organic compound.

Serine = orgnic
Calcium=inorganic

Enzyme inhibitor

Classification

They  are three types
1)Reversible
2)In Reversible
3)allosteric

1) Reversible

These inhibitors bind covalently with enzyme and enzyme inhibition is removed
The inhibitory bind covalent with enzyme and enzyme inhibition can be reversible.
Reversible enzyme inhibitors divided into two categories.

1) Competitive

The inhibitor which easily resemble the real substance or which Structurally similar with substrate is regarded as a substrate analong.
The inhibit competes with substrate and band at the active site of enzymes but do not undergo  any catalytic reaction.

2) Non competitive inhibitor

the inventor of bind at the site other than the active site on the enzymes surface the inhibitor does note interface with the enzyme substance binding.

2) In-Reversible inhibition

  • The inhibitor bind covalently with the enzyme and Inactivate them which is In-Reversible.
  • Lodo acetate is an In-Reversible inhibitor of the enzyme like papain glycer aldehyde 3 phosphate dehydrogenase.
  • Lodo acetate combines with sulfhydryl(SH) groups at the active site of these enzyme and make tjan in active.

3)allosteric

This types of inhibition aer give under allosteric regulation as a part of the regulation of enzyme activity in living system.
